Will the DJ for my event be the DJ I speak with and plan my event with?
ALWAYS... DJ Jeremy will always be your DJ, we never "farm" gigs out to other
DJ's.
Do you use professional equipment?
Of Course! I use Peavey, American DJ, and Chauvet just to name a few. With redundant backups in case of electronic failure.
Are you interactive?
Absolutely, unless requested otherwise. I advertise as the most interactive DJ in the Northwoods, and I stand true to that!
I want a special song for my dance, can you make sure it is available?
Yes! Any special requests for songs that are made 2 weeks prior to your event I will make sure to have. If for some reason the song is so obscure that it can not be obtained (has not happened yet), I will notify you as soon as possible.
My friend hired a DJ and he charged for extra time for setup and takedown, is this normal?
Absolutely not! Setup and takedown are done on my time. I arrive hours before the event to ensure my equipment is set up before your first guest arrives!
Do I need to provide a full song list?
Preferably not, although you are hiring me so I will do what you request. I am a DJ and through my years of experience have learned to "read a crowd". I know what to play and when to play it to keep a dance floor alive. You are hiring a DJ not a jukebox, take advantage of it!
How will you come dressed?
Unless you request otherwise, I always dress in a shirt and tie/suit. I have been requested to come formally in a tuxedo, which I will do for a nominal charge.
Do you hang any banners or other advertisements?
Absolutely not. I pride myself on being elegant. While I appreciate referral business, I feel my services speak for themselves. I will not hang any banners, logos, or signs on my equipment. Nor will I put any advertisements on the dinner tables. The extent of my "advertising" is an unobtrusive stack of business cards next to my equipment so guests can easily take a card. I'm here for you, you're not here for me!
How does your contract/deposit procedures work?
I do require a signed contract and a minimum of a $100 deposit 30 days prior to the event. Events canceled within 30 days of the event are subject to a 50% fee of the total price during the "Wedding Season", and subject to the forfeiture of the deposit any other time.
Do you have a video or can we come view a live event?
Studio edited videos can make even the worst DJ seem top notch. For that reason, I encourage every prospective client to see me in action. Just ask where I am playing next, with permission, you are more than welcome to see me for yourself!
Can you help me decide which venues are the best for my reception?
Absolutely! I have played at nearly every venue in the Northwoods, I can tell you pros and cons of each venue to help you better decide. From caterers, to photographers to cake decorators!
Is tipping/gratuity expected from the DJ?
By no means is tipping/gratuity mandatory or expected. I charge a professional rate for a professional service. This means you won't see a tip jar on my table. If at the end of the night you feel I have surpassed your expectations and you want to tip me, I would accept it as the utmost compliment. But you're under no obligation to do so.
Should we feed the DJ?
One of my most popular questions! The answer is that it is completely up to you. With setup and takedown time, I'll often be at your event for nearly 6-8 hours. My only request is that you let me know either way ahead of time. This way I can stop and pick something up along the way, if necessary. If you choose to provide a meal for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. I suggest not including me in your count since usually at least one guest doesn't show. But don't worry if you're working on a tight budget because there is no meal clause of any kind in our contract!
Are your rates negotiable through price matching or other discounts?
My rates are based on my cost of doing business as well as the value I place on the job. I take all events seriously and attend to each in a professional manner. I'm confident you will find my prices to be exceptionally competitive. If my prices are a bit more than you planned to spend, or a bit more than the DJ down the street, just remember the old saying "you get what you pay for." When you book my services you're not only paying for incredible DJ entertainment, you're paying for peace of mind.
